#Ad Eating REAL food is the most delicious way to eat! That’s why I love things like farmer’s markets and @SargentoCheese that make eating real food easy. I got home from the farmer’s market and sliced/chopped, blended my way to sandwich heaven right here. It’s a loaded up sandwich using all the best vegetables could find, including carrot tops for the pesto spread, and Sargento® Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese and Swiss Cheese, which are always, 100% real, natural cheese! 🧀🧀🧀 #realcheesepeople Loaded Farmers Market Vegetarian Sandwich with Carrot Top Pesto 2 slices bread 1 slice Sargento® Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese 1 slice Sargento® Sliced Swiss Cheese 2 tbsp carrot top pesto Grilled zucchini Heirloom tomatoes Shaved carrots Arugula Avocado Directions: Spread carrot top pesto on bread. Layer cheese and veggies.
As a self-employed freelancer, I sometimes feel like I should be working from the second I wake up until I go to bed. It’s hard when your home, (specifically your kitchen), is your office. That’s why I love taking a real break for lunch every day, no matter how overwhelmed with deadlines or work I feel. • Yesterday for lunch, I cooked the coriander-rubbed chicken breasts with lentil-raddichio salad from #healthyishcookbook, and as I went to take a nice photo, I realized how not-“Instagram” this photo feels. There’s no unrealistic prop situation, or perfectly crumpled napkin, it’s just my real life, which meant a plain bowl set on the windowsill for natural light during the snowstorm. And, right now as I eat the leftovers, real life means that I’m still in my pajamas at noon, dreading working out, and feeling behind on deadlines. But, at least there’s lunch. • P.S. I shared this recipe with The Morning Show over at Wisconsin Public Radio. I’ll put the link to the recipe and the radio show in my stories up above!
Man I am on a taco kick lately. (aka, living my best life) Today I sautéed up shrimp with kimchi, black beans, plus some @redboatfishsauce and chopped cilantro to finish.💥PS! How pretty are those super-red shrimp? I bought them from @wildlocalseafoodco, an awesome company that use sustainable practices to fish off the coast of Santa Barbara. If you can get over to the Santa Monica farmers’ market, I hugely recommend picking some up! You will have to peel and devein the shrimp yourself, but do what I did and save all the shells for a flavorful stock. I’m planning to use mine for the base of my coconut shrimp curry recipe from #healthyishcookbook 😝🍜🦐
A delicious bowl without avocado? Sacrilege! Just kidding, you *can* have tasty, filling, grain bowls without any avo. This one’s got hummus and roasted onions to give some satisfying fat, plus quinoa, black beans, steamed broccoli rabe, some long Persian cucumbers for dunking in the hummus. #healthyish
I made it. I turned in the book. I kept working and working to make it better until the very last second because I want it to be so good for all of YOU. it’s not perfect (yet), but I’m so darn proud of it. My people and I are throwing on a movie and celebrating new found freedom, and the first weekend in so long where the only thing on the agenda is more of this. 👆🏻 make it a good one, friends! . . . #cheeseplatter #grazingplatter #meatandcheeseboard #littlemoments #rslove #sodomino
Greta has been flitting about acting giddy about Valentine’s Day all week, leaving love notes on our desks, tucked in shoes and under pillows—always with her toddling protege trailing along. He’s been soaking it in, trying to grasp the meaning of it all, running to me with little scraps of paper saying “I made this for YOU!” Last night when I put him to sleep he said, “Mama, guess what? tomorrow is Clementine’s day!” It’s pretty fitting, since nothing makes him feel more loved than a huge pile of citrus and a promise that he can eat it all, without sharing a bite, so that’s what we’re doing over here. Happy Valentine’s/Clementine’s Day, friends! I hope you feel insanely loved. 🍊 . . . . #citruslove #givelove #showlove #simpleacts #food52gram #rslove #valentinesday2018 #littlejoys #sodomino #pursuejoy #mymotherhood #motherhooddiaries #motherhoodrising #raisingboys #hehasmyheart
whoever said eating healthy is a chore never had this salad. this beautiful bowl of life is inspired by my sister, Jenny, an angel and a warrior. she has been through so much yet she is always smiling, shining her light, thinking of others. She’s equal parts gentleness and fight, she is everything good in the world. I’m so grateful for her example and for that of so many women who inspire me, who lead with heart and love. tagging some of the dear ones here, my teachers and bearers of light.✨ . . . . . . #womenwhoinspire #bethelight #sundayfeels #sisterhood #communityovercompetition #sundaying
